The edging of a steel structure warehouse mainly includes gable wall edging, door and window edging, eave edging, and canopy edging. Among these, the sealing of door and window edging is particularly important, as leaks in steel structure factories often occur at the edging of doors and windows. If the initial sealant application is inadequate, subsequent repairs can be highly challenging due to the limited variety of wall panel designs. The selection and installation of edging are relatively simpler compared to doors, but attention must be paid to sealing to prevent water ingress. Under normal conditions, the gap between the door leaf and the frame should be 1.5–25 mm. A gap that is too small or tight makes the door difficult to open, while a gap that is too large compromises sealing performance.

During the installation process, it is essential to check whether the door leaf opens and closes smoothly, whether it is vertically aligned, and whether there are any signs of automatic opening or closing. Additionally, the gaps between the door leaf, the frame, and the ground must meet installation requirements. Any issues identified should be addressed promptly.

After installing the metal components of the door leaf, sealing must be applied between the edging and the wall panel. The door leaf can be positioned vertically within the door frame, with one side of the hinges secured in the hinge slots of the frame to complete the installation. However, for utility doors, the door leaf can be directly installed in the corresponding position on the door frame panel. Straight trim or other types of trim (also referred to as door stops, door partitions, or door barriers) can then be secured to the door frame panel using headless nails to ensure proper positioning when the door leaf is opened or closed.
